Indian Government Honors Dr Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale With Padma Shri 2016
With an intention to serve the human kind by providing medical aid, Dr Gokhale has formed a charitable trust called “Sahrudaya Health, Medical and Educational Trust”. He is Chairman of Sahrudaya Trust, which helps the poor patients with both monetary and moral support for their health care. The trust also spread knowledge and awareness about the prevention of heart diseases.
Till may 2016, Dr Gokhale and his team has performed 180 successful Free Open Heart Surgeries at Guntur Government Hospital under Sahrudaya Trust. Sahrudaya Trust has given a great relief to the poor patients with their free open heart surgeries under the PPP (Public Private Partnership) Model with the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Dr Gokhale says: “We are performing these free open heart surgeries only to get the corporate level of health care access to the poor patients in Guntur and also all the white ration card holders in the states of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It gives immense pleasure and more satisfaction for me to perform surgeries @ GGH than 16000 plus surgeries I have performed earlier at corporates.”
