99 Successful Free Open Heart Surgeries for Poor Patients @ Guntur Government Hospital

From a moment of fear towards death, that poor patients with critical conditions were facing in the city of Guntur, have now taken a fresh breath of air with initiation of access to Free Open heart surgeries through SAHRUDAYA TRUST, led by Dr Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale, one of the Best Cardio Thoracic Surgeons in Andhra Pradesh.

Beating the present scenario of Healthcare being at its highest peaks of commercialization, Sahrudaya Trust has given a great relief to the poor patients with their free open heart surgeries under the PPP (Public Private Partnership) Model. Till date, starting from March 18th, Dr Gokhale and his team have performed 99 successful Free Open Heart Surgeries at Guntur Government Hospital. Sabarimala, a lady patient happens to be the first poor patient who has undergone successful open heart surgery on March 18th 2015.

Dr Gokhale (first heart and lung transplant surgeon in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh) and Team were applauded by the patients for saving their lives. He has the fame of performing more than 16,000 heart surgeries in his medical history and now he is looking up for helping the poor and provide the best medical facility access to people in Guntur. Having completed his MBBS at Guntur Medical College, Dr Gokhale in association with PPP has initiated free heart operations to the poor and needy in Guntur.

The 100th Free Open Heart Surgery will be performed on coming 20th November 2015, Bandlamudi Nageshwara Rao is the patient who is going to get operated for his critical heart condition.

Dr Alla Gokhale expressed “We are performing this free open heart surgeries only to get the corporate level of health care access to the poor patients in Guntur. It gives immense pleasure and more satisfaction for me to perform surgeries @ GGH than 16000 surgeries I have performed earlier at corporates.”

People from Guntur, Krishna, Prakasam, West Godavari, Hyderabad and many other cities, have availed free open heart surgeries without spending a single rupee.

Dr Gokhale along with Anesthesiologist, K.Sudhakar and CT Surgeon Doctor P. Srinivasulu, GGH Anesthesia Department Associate Professor Dr Shareef Ahmed, Assistant Professor Trinadh, General Surgery Assistant Dr Sushma Gayatrhi, Civil Assistant Surgeon Dr Vyshali, Senior Resident Doctor Manjula and Doctor Anusha are performing the surgeries.

Dr Gokhale has also started working towards free heart transplantation surgeries for poor @ GGH in the coming months. Three patients have been identified and are going to get operated in near future. GGH would be the first government hospital to have performed highest number of heart surgeries in the state after this three surgeries. Nearly 20 Lakhs have been allocated for the organizing an Isolation Room for the heart transplant patients.
